Rufus H. Allen Jr.

Rufus H. Allen, Jr., Second Lt., United States Marine Corps Reserve is awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for heroism and extraordinary achievement in aerial flight as Pilot of a bomber plane in Marine Bombing Squadron Four Hundred Thirteen in action against enemy Japanese forces in the Bismarck Archipelago area, from 1 to 25 April 1945. Completing his twentieth mission during this period, 2nd Lt. Allen contributed materially to the success of his squadron. His courage and devotion to duty in the face of antiaircraft fire were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service. Signed by the Secretary of the Navy.
