James H. Beck

The Distinguished Flying Cross is awarded to James H. Beck, Technical Sergeant, 403rd Bombardment Squadron, 43rd Bombardment Group, Air Corps United States Army for operational missions from July 30, 1942 to March 28, 1943. The Distinguished Flying Cross is awarded for extraordinary achievement while participating in two hundred hours of operational flight missions in the Southwest Pacific Area, during which hostile contact was probable and expected. There flights included long-range reconnaissance missions against enemy air dromes and installations, sea search and bombing attacks on enemy naval vessels and shipping. Throughout the operations, these combat crew members displayed outstanding ability, courage, and devotion to duty.
